Lagos Corner Nigerian restaurant was created October 2007 by Alhaja Nimota Uthman and her children..Before the creation of Lagos Corner Alhaja Nimota has been preparing different kinds of Nigerian foods for her Nigerian clients and preparing foods at parties and functions for the African Communities in the Lower Mainland in British Columbia . In Canada Hajia as she is fondly called by her customers from the African community started requesting that she provide food at community events like weddings, Baby naming ceremonies and birthday celebrations.She became so popular that some people urged her to set up an African restaurant and even helped her to find a business location at 7546 Edmonds Street, Burnaby BC .

Lagos Corner is named after the most populous city in Nigeria called LAGOS being the home town of Hajia Uthman.the city has more than 12 million people , it's the economic and financiaial capital of Africa in general.

Lagos Corner has featured on City TV's Cooking programme twice in the last 6 months in 2008.
